Hākari is a tauira (student) led collaborative event between the Food Design institute, the School of Art and the School of Communication Design, celebrating spring in Ōtepoti.

After the last few years of disconnection due to Covid, we would like to welcome the wider Te Kura Matatini ki Otago community back to campus.

We are telling the stories of Dunedin’s food producers. Here, design meets kai. The event features street food experiences, videography, photography, and design installations.

Highlighting local ingredients from our featured suppliers, our tauira will bring you tastes from different corners of the globe. Come hungry!

Tickets are $22 for general public, $18 for students and $10 for children.

  • Your general admission or student ticket includes FIVE different street food experience items and matching non-alcoholic drinks.
  • The $10 kids ticket includes TWO different street food experience items and matching non-alcoholic drinks. The experiences also cater for vegetarians and vegans.

Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase separately on the night of the event.
